Christ, SH was oppressing them for almost 25 years. Guess they wanted to wait for all the Hussein clan to die of natural causes. They sure as hell didn't have the courage to tear down the SH images while he was around.

Simon Jenkins, columnist, The Times, Mar 28: Baghdad will be near impossible to conquer.

John Pilger in the Daily Mirror, April 5: [The Iraqis] are not keeping to the script; and their extraordinary resistance against such overwhelming odds has required intensified propaganda in Washington and London.

No, its the message of war critics everywhere who are thrilled to see the end of Saddam but saddened that it took place via an illegal and violent foreign invasion which will soon become an foreign occupation. Add in Iran's long-standing, and recently fueled, hate of the US and it all makes plenty of sense.

Whaaat? So how were they going to get to "thrilled" without that invasion? No invasion = all the future years of SH's brutal regime + then all the years of Uday/Qusay's even more brutal regime. Be sad and free or be oppressed and even perhaps dead, take your pick.

I'm happy and free, and happy that Iraq is free from Sadam. The people that are sad about this whole thing desserve to be sad, they have imposed it upon themselves. You lay down with dogs you get fleas. You oppose the overthrow of sadistic dictators, you deserve whatever ridicule comes your way. They should feel lucky that ridicule is all they get.
