Should work now Samson, I just went their three times in a row no problem.
I couldn't get avg to work so I downloaded avast! and it worked great.
I have used Norton and McAfee.
Norton to me seems to slow down the computer vs. McAfee.

it doesn't not scan, it is used to turn security features of other browser on/off you can go directly to each browser and do the same (if you know where are all those switchs are)

ps. I don't use it, too powerful, you might nuke something and you don't even know what you did.

The program just sits there in the background. The stuff that it protects you against can seriously screw your machine up.
Ultra simple to install, you will not know it's even operating unless it picks up something (rare).
Another line of defence against viruses etc is to use a browser other than IE (most viruses etc target IE). I use Mozilla Firefox, it's far superior to IE - tabbed browsing (opening several pages in one window) is very cool.
You 'have to have' as many programs as possible since it appears no one program does it all.
Don't forget HiJackThis, SpyBot's 'Tea Timer' will usually pop-up an 'accept/deny' to something trying to run or install on the computer. Another freebie System Tracker: http://www.hotscripts.com/Detailed/44874.html
Try also online scans, f-secure has found a couple of worms on my computer when all the others didn't, my main av is in Norton Works.
