Wonder how much they pay for auto insurance??

does the Windows Live Onecare compensate you in dollars in case you lose valuable information due to a security problem? if it doesn't, then it cannot be compared to auto insurance.

I actually didn't have to reinstall my OS for 6 months straight, and I used to reinstall every other month.

Geez, ease up on the porn dude :)

NOD didn't catch anything that avast free didn't already catch in my experience. Not that I am complaining my computer doesn't have Siphilus

I've been using Avast! and it has worked very well, free.

I've been using Avast for at least 3 years.
This is a commercial grade product on par with the best... based in EU.
The virus database is updated 2-3 times/week.
In 3 years... no virus has ever gotten past Avast on my Windows XP computers.

It's FREE for home use...
Because then they get the same satisfied customers to pay for it at
work.

Avast also works very well together...
With the free Sygate Personal Firewall.

This combination is MUCH better than XP Firewall + Norton/Macfee...
Not only superior... but free for home use.

Thanks I will check out Sygate, although I just dumped Zone Alarm, it cut my isp dowload spped in half when tested on dslreports.com! My router does NAT so I am not too concerned.

Hehe, no porn websites. (I learned very quickly way back when, hehe) But always downloading my fav. tv shows (Just finished watching Grey's Anatomy Season 1 & 2)

I just bought a DVD drive and 300 gig HD, and will move all the stuff on to DVD's and the other HD. I might build a PC specifically for trading very soon. But still going to get the multi monitor set-up first before all that.

As for the viruses....

I seriously think NOD32 was the best Antivirus I have ever tried, and I'm a tech freak and really picky, I tried Avast (nice idea), Nod32, Norton (suckage), McAfee, AVG (free), Sygate, Bitdefender (what I'm using now) and I'm sure I'm leaving a few cheezy ones out as well. I definately give Nod32 the thumbs up.

I kinda regret purchasing Bitdefender, it is definately second on my list, but I prefer Nod32.

If I hadn't been a trader, I would love to be a software review writer for PC Mag or something.

But the best thing to do........ RUN LINUX!!! :p

has anyone had any experience with the virus or malware that attaches to IE and auto directs the homepage to another location. its on the laptop that my son uses and cant get rid of it. used mcafee, zone alarm. any help appreciated.
