Another Week Another Ratings Tank For NFL

Watching sports is like an addiction. When you're into it, you can't live without it. Once you get clean however, you look back and shake your head at all the time you wasted on it.

NFL had it all and blew it big time. The funny thing is, the billionaire owners are so clueless they reupped the moron who ruined it all for them, Goodell.

here is some info which may put some of these protests in context. see below.

editorial... I got pulled over by a Cop in Pacific beach in the early 90s. He did not like the way I parked. He said very crude things to me. When I did not respond he said really nasty stuff about my girlfriend who was standing right there. It took a lot of self control to not respond.

I am impressed this cop did jack this guy up after hearing this about his wife from this guy.
Kudos to the officer.

A Florida police officer has alleged that New York Jets wide receiver Robby Anderson turned crude and lewd during a recent traffic stop, and threatened to sexually assault the officer’s wife.
The 24-year-old signed in 2016 as an undrafted free agent was arrested in Sunrise, Florida, for reckless driving, evading police, and threatening the officer after failing to yield during a traffic stop on Friday, January 19, according to NFL.com.

Police say he was going 105-miles-per-hour in a 45 zone of Friday morning, but when he was placed in the back of a police cruiser he began making lewd threats to the officer.

According to a police report obtained by TMZ, an officer described Anderson’s driving as “all over the roadway and failed to maintain a single lane.”

The report goes on to say that Anderson refused to cooperate with officers and physically resisted being placed in the cruiser. The report also alleges that Anderson said “that when he got out he was going to find my wife, f**k her and nut in her eye.”

Anderson reportedly continued making threats like that for an unreported amount of time He allegedly threatened the officer and his family repeatedly. “He also began to brag about how much money he has and how all I was doing was trying to do is ‘Ruin his fun,'” the report says.

The player faces 9 charges and will next appear in court on March 19.

This is Anderson’s second recent run in with police. Last May, Anderson was arrested by Miami police for refusing an order to sit on the ground and for physically pushing an officer at a music festival.

The 6’3″, 160 lbs. player achieved 63 catches for 941 yards and 7 touchdowns during the 2017 regular season.

This guy should go to jail and be barred from the NFL permanently, if these allegations are true. Or Commissioner Clueless can consult with his kneeling buddies and come up with some way to blame it on the cops. This is an easy case for him to restore some public trust. I predict he blows it badly.

They suspended Josh Gordon for two seasons in separate incidents for smoking some weed and drinking a beer on a team plane after a game. While Jeff Sessions might approve, most fans found it excessive. Seriously, he smoked weed? He didn't beat up anyone, he didn't fight with cops, he didn't threaten cops, he wasn't driving double the speed limit and risking innocent peoples' lives.

another typo...

I should have said did not jack this guy up

NFL rejects veterans group's Super Bowl ad urging people to stand for the anthem

The National Football League has rejected a Super Bowl advertisement from American Veterans urging people to stand for the national anthem.

The nation's largest veterans service organization had been invited by the NFL to place an ad in the Super Bowl LII program. AMVET's advertisement included a two-word message - "#PleaseStand." Click here to see the ad.

"It's a simple, polite request that represents the sentiment of our membership, particularly those whose missing or paralyzed limbs preclude standing," wrote National Commander Marion Polk in a letter to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.

This is what happens when you turn a successful business over to liberal activists. I am sure if BLM wanted to put in an ad insulting police and whites in general, they would have been eager to accept it.

Goodell's method of dealing with the kneeling fiasco was to force the owners to pony up a ton of money to support far left activist groups. I am totally sure if a group of Christian players were demonstrating to support pro-life policies, they would simply have suspended them and moved on. I guess some causes are more important than others. BLM yes, traditional values, uhh no.

Let's not forget, this is the same NFL that prohibited Tim Tebow from displaying Bible verses on his eye black.

Of course zerohedge doesn't tell the whole story.Prices are still the highest ever and the game is being played in boring ass Minnesota.

There’s good news and bad news if you’re a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles or New England Patriots and you’re still contemplating if it’s worth spending big bucks for a trip to Minneapolis next month.

The good news says the Super Bowl LII ticket market has had a few days to settle, and the latest information on secondary market trends from TicketIQ.com indicates prices have fallen 25 percent in 72 hours.

The bad news is that the average asking price per ticket is $6,777. That means it’s still the most expensive Super Bowl ticket ever tracked.
