The video seems to show Adam Toledo with an object which was likely the handgun found at the scene. But then he has his hands up, and he's not trying to resist at that point. So he should have been arrested and not shot.

Relax Nancy. The quote I responded to questioned the kid's innocence. What was he guilty of? Sneaking out of the house? Or has there been evidence presented that he was guilty of something other than what a lot of kids do?
You live on his block?
Did you see the gun yet?As others have also stated, I didn't see him with a gun. Did you?
So if people listen and comply and surrender and still get killed, what more is required to have the cops stop giving out death sentences.
Does not matter if the kid was committing a crime and out at 2 AM, he was going to be arrested and charged like the other guy who was with him. He deserved to be caught and go to juvenile detention at best.
This is the part that bothers me, cops keep moving the goalposts on what you are suppoed to do to not get shot. Don't resist arrest or flee and you don't get shot. give yourself up with no weapon and still get shot...
In the police submitted photos, I saw what looks like a gun in his hand.Did you see the gun yet?
Swing by Altgeld Gardens sometime after midnight. Tell us about it.A lot of 13 year old kids are out at 2:30 with a felon and carrying a gun? Me thinks not.
In the police submitted photos, I saw what looks like a gun in his hand.
But the police said that the gun was several feet from where he was standing/shot. And in the video, I didn't see him moving as though he was tossing a gun. In neither the body cam video, nor the surveillance video.
Did you see any video showing him moving as though he was tossing a gun?

I know more than you think.
You've answered your own question. The other didn't have a gun on him and he was arrested.
The youngster didn't listen, didn't comply and had had a gun in his hand. He had plenty of opportunity to get rid of the gun and surrender.
What would your reaction be if the kid still had the gun when he turned and then fired, killing the cop? Tough luck copper?
Thug life affects non-thugs as well.Your point? I wouldn't call that project representative of anything but thug life.
If your point is thugs are recruiting young kids to do their dirty work, we can agree.
8AM is after midnight btw.![]()
