"Additional officers can be seen coming to the scene where Adam lies unresponsive, telling him, “Stay awake, man” and attempting chest compressions until an ambulance arrives. The officer who killed Adam shined a light on the back of the fence where he was lying, showing a gun several feet away. Prosecutors allege this was the gun Adam had carried."
Was the kid carrying that gun, dumped it as he was fleeing, and then attempted to surrender? Hard to say conclusively. Was the cop too quick on the trigger? That's for a jury to decide. Tough job in a tough neighborhood. Wouldn't be doing it now days for all the money in the world.
Whatever the cause, let the riots begin case this ain't going to be swallowed as an accident.
Chicago cops have plenty of shit in their game, so yeah, that's a hurdle for them to overcome. Yes, in watching the video from the safety of our homes it seems pretty clear the kid was trying to surrender and was unarmed at that precise moment, especially with a still camera shot at the end. In real time, heat of the moment, not so easy to make those determinations. Like I said, tough job I wouldn't want to be doing. It's Chicago...police are known in Chicago to plant a gun nearby in a shooting when they clearly make a mistake and know there's going to be a body cam footage.
Could be just a kid playing with a gun given to him by a 21 year old (that was with him but did not run) or a kid trying to buy a gun for protection from an older guy or they were just shooting it for practice into wooden light poles (very common to do such for target practice in Chicago).
- I'm not saying that's what happen.
You then quickly get the hell out of there because you know someone heard and most likely called the police.
The kid was clearly unarmed and raised his hands as instructed.
The problem here is the cop reported to his commanding officer that the shooting occurred when the kid was "armed" and then a Cook County Prosecutor stated the kid had a gun in his hand.
Police story and the Prosecution story already very problematic...looks like a cover up to me.

Activists already calling it an assassination. It clearly wasn't that, but it does appear that the cop was pretty quick on the trigger.
