another hedge fund guy jumps to his death

Looks like we have had a pose on the number of suicides : people were starting to be moved by the sudden surge in suicides many months ago.
Also, wasn't Paulson involved in some Mortage Backed Security mega win, but with many investors/clients losing big ? I don't know about all investors, but some rarely forget their losses, and can have convincing arguments to convince people that for the sake of their family, it is better they do a "non cancellable" action. At least on ET one can speculate on what can have happened regarding such cases.

Not sure who Jesse is, but even just getting tail is one dimensional. @toc had the right idea: be in nature. All this is just bullshit designed to get us laid in bed or laid in shade.
read up on Jessie Livermore, perhaps the greatest speculator our times, not greatest winner

It's true that what this thread has turned into is a disgrace :
a person just committed suicide, many people who knew him well are in distress over his death,
and here we are talking about ( ).
Peace be with the soul of this man.
Condoleances to his family.
I agree in a way. But its a pretty selfish f'ing act. So F him. As Comagnum said, those 4 children will be haunted by this tragedy for the rest of their lives. What about them? Did he think about that before he jumped....with all his multiple Ivy League degree's?
They are going to need way more than condolences. They are scarred for the rest of THEIR lives.
And smallstops...I know you post about this a lot... but whats the Catholic Church say about suicide? Mortal sin the last I looked. And thats one you can't confess your way out of.

I'm personally pro-death -- as weird as that may kind of sound;

People should be allowed to legally (and morally and ethically) kill themselves if they want to o_O o_O
...without the world being so sad and/or angry about the situation,

They will get the best therapy money can buy.

The kids will understand they were not at fault.Depression is understood these days. and its mental illness, the kids and wife don't need to feel guilty.

Its the same as losing him to some other illness that a person maybe could have got treated but lets it get to the point they let it kill them.
And his wife is still young, she can re marry and start a new life.

Steve Jobs agrees with you as per his 2005 Stanford commencement speech in regards to being pro death, don't know about legal suicide part...

Yeah... you're right...
But its the suddenness and unexpectedness of the event. There's a difference losing someone to a long drawn out disease and losing someone to a car wreck. Therapy will help, but there will always be doubt/guilt deep down.
I dunno. Its a tragedy for sure. You gotta wonder with a man that smart... makes no sense to me.

Nice guilt trip but I didn't know my mom was on here. The point is, mom, enjoy your time here.

Quite a harsh judgment. Maybe true but still it can hit the toughest...

Killing himself ensures his surviving wife and 3 kids will be forever destroyed by his suicide - they will hate him for his F U message he made to them by leaping. Been dirt poor after being way up - it's not so bad, you can find cash on the streets at night walking around by parking garages and night clubs. Real men bounce back from financial set backs with a vengeance, wimps throw in the towel.
