Do you think Trump listens to anyone? I don't know how he can. He never shuts his mouth long enough to get advice from people who know more than him (read: everyone). The PPT will give two scoops some decent advice and he'll go on another drug induced twitter shitfit about how the deep state is trying to kill the economy. It's almost comedic how predictable the twitter rants are. You could probably make money trading on what tariff man says on twitter alone.

Trump so far have kept assuring the markets that the trade talk was making progress (e.g. last Monday), or that the trade talk was constructive (last Friday). As a result, the markets bounced back from deep losses each time. But he cannot play the markets like this indefinitely, and eventually the markets will ignore him as he losses credibility.
 
Honestly speaking, Trump hardly change over the past few years.

His behaviour, his personality, his personal characteristics,
his inner thoughts, his way of living .... hardly change.
