The gubbermint wants minorities who have no money and can't read to go to college. It just ain't fair if they can't! It's racist!

So they'll make sure that loans can be provided to Levi so he can go to college. It's like the Community Reinvestment Act for real estate loans to minorities.

And since they can't read and SAT is close to zero, how are they going to get into any decent school?

Enter for profit schools. To fulfill the dream the gubbermint tells everyone they're supposed to have. To go to college. The for profit schools fill a niche the gubbermint desperately wants there to be.

Maybe the students coming into them had no business in college in the first place and are only there because the black congressional caucus wants their fair share.

Sorry, gwb. That's just not true. The president of one of the divisions in our company has a UoPH degree. In my previous company, the head of sales had one, as well as the marketing director. I originally thought as you did, but real world evidence is to the contrary. No HR group threw them in the trash and they did quite well for themselves.

Let me state that every company I know of in the Tech, Banking, Insurance, etc. sectors tosses resumes with degrees from for-profit colleges directly in the trash.

Previously I have posted articles about "graduates" of these colleges not being able to find any jobs (nor repay their loans). Their job placement rate is dismal with under 10% of "graduates" finding work in their degree areas. There are also numerous articles quoting corporations stating individuals from these institutions are not hired. The only place I see these "graduates" are in contact centers such as ACS (now owned by Xerox) as agents. Otherwise they are not found in the corporate workspace.

I have to agree with GWB here.
I was just wondering- were the employees you know that have UofPH degrees already working at the company and then got their degrees?
I have friends who work for the state and needed a "college degree" to move up in rank/title and went the Online for-profit route just to satisfy the requirement.
 
I heard a radio ad where Arizona State University was touting its online degree program. They said the degree is no different than resident students get.

Taxpayer supported educational benefits should be limited to the most cost effective alternatives. If you don't like that, pay for it yourself, snowflake.
 
Are people advocating that for-profit colleges are legitimate institutions of higher learning? Haha; is it to make the Sec. of Education nomination more palatable?

Time to go long on this fraudsters I guess.
