i have never backed away from this mistake and openly discuss it with friends. i hate that i voted for him... my biggest political mistake ever. but i did learn a huge lesson from it. i almost always vote third party.... that year i was so scared of Gore winning i went for Bush and his humble foreign policy of no nation bldg.

as far as Ron Paul losing his local seat, i personally wouldn't mind. at that point i would hope he would go third party on the libertarian or constitutional party ticket.

can you imagine a McCain, Hillary and Ron Paul debate? he would be the only non-war monger on the stage.
god knows hillary and mccain are both incapable of understanding the simplest of economic dynamics. with the economy collapsing it would make for an interesting display.

That would be a great debate but it will never happen because "they" wouldn't want to see either McCain or Clinton publicly embarrassed.

My wife comes and gets me and says "put that beer down, you have to vote.... " I say "ok but you drive, I forget what I'm doing and always drive to the bar......"

I have a "don't blame me I don't vote" sticker on my pickup truck too..... I put it over my "Nuke the Gay Whales" one, I was getting a lot of flack and I found that there really are liberals that worry about Gay Whales so I didn't want to disturb the disturbed....

I have a wreckanexpensivebicycle.com site I'm working on, it's a way to get back at all the jerks that key Humvees.....

Blacks are not entitled to reparations. No living black was a slave. Those who suffered slavery are all dead and thus can't be compensated. Those who were slavers are all dead and can't be punished.

There is no reason that a person who has never been a slaver should compensate a person who has never been a slave.

Those who decry racism, sexism, whatever, and demand compensation on the grounds of past wrongs to their respective groups are the greatest promoters of racism, sexism, etc. because they define persons not as individuals, but as members of groups.. and group differentiation leads inevitably to group rivalry.
 
In regards to reparations to blacks...my thought is "get over it"


All of us...those who are adults anyway...know that you simply don't get reimbursed for the injustices you suffer in this society. It just the way it is...

As regards the "Angry White Man" I would say Mr. Hubell's description is perhaps over the top a bit, and not really that interesting...in point of fact, those of us who grew up here (in the good old USA) are all angry white men...Go if you will to any emergency room looking for some treatment and you will find that it is populated with Mexicans who can't afford health insurance and are using that hospital ER as their health care provider (while you wait)....

Go to the DMV to renew your car registration or take your driver's test and you find (again) that the lines are populated by Mexicans who expect to take their drivers test in Spanish godammit....and the little booklet they want to study first is printed in Spanish....subsidized by the angry white man's tax dollar....

Drive into Los Angeles and on many street corners you see little Mexican guys and gals standing on those corners selling drugs....and then there is the gang problem (which to be honest is due to both mexicans AND blacks)..How ANGRY does a person have to be to qualify as an Angry White Man?

While i don't consider myself particularly "Angry" lets just say I am losing my sense of humor....
 
I know a lot of Angry White Men who are one or more of the following:

1) Utter idiots,

2) frothing at the mouth to vote for Shrillary,

3) LOVE the idea of amnesty for illegal immigrants,

4) want to ensure the big, bad gubmint can't wiretap Al Qaeda suspects because they're afraid Uncle Sam might record conversations of them with their 1-900 sex call services,

5) hate Jews with a passion, and

6) are utter moonbats.

Many of them are right here on ET, and the majority of them have the common sense of a dead flea.

Interesting read Prof.

But...I think we need more Angry American People. Every package I buy has more spanish language than English. I went to a large national department store no classical music, no oldies, 100% mexicana music.

Did you guys read the Lee Iaccoca post? An extremely important read and reality check.
