Watching the markets every day but I just could not find the right spread last week.

I am sure I will come up with something next week.

Oh boy, first trade after a long time and I really got hammered.

5 x ES - YM, entry on 03/01 at 9308 and out yesterday at 8890. Terrible fills.

It was a correlation spread and it really looked nice to me. Well, maybe next time.

Hyp. loss was $2,090 + $100 commission = - $2,190.

Hyp. account is now at $49,805.

Finaly a trade, yeaaaa.

I got into the following spreads:

6 x LHQ - LHM on 03/09 at -2,65 with a risk per spread of $400. Basis was seasonality and a Ross Hook.

6 x SMN - SMZ also on 03/09 at -3.8 with a risk per spread of $400. Bais is also seasonality and it seems the spread has found its bottom.

I took profit on the LH-LH spread today 03/15 at -1.65. I still have to wait for my confirmation from the broker. If anything went wrong I let you know.

Hyp. profint is $1,200 - commission of $150 = $1,050.

Hyp. account at $50,705.

I did get rid of my SM-SM trade on 03/20 at -5.1 but I did keep 4 of my SMN6 for my next spread.

Hyp. Loss on the SM-SM is -$660- commission = -$960.

Hyp. account now at $49,745.

I did enter the following spread:

4 x SMN6 - BON6 at $3,670 (equity spread) on 03/20. Basis is seasonal and a 1-2-3 low. Risk is $630/spread.

Let's see what we get!

Andy,

The commission you fixed are quite high and sometime eating your profit or more than doubling your loses.

Are they so high because thetypeof spread you trade are available only with that kind of expensive broker commissions ?

Do you have all your results from day 1 on a spreadsheet, it would be interested to see your account size today if commissiong are divided by let say a factor 2.

you are right, I did choose a high commission. Reason for this was I though I always take the close price for the entries and the commission should compensate any slippage. But I am now giving my original entries/exits only with a different number of contracts. Maybe I should change to a more "normal" commission.

I think commission between $30 - $40 are ok. Keep in mind, you have to pay commission for the long and for the short position and you have to trade mainly open outcry markets. I am paying around $30 at the moment. I will make adjustments back to the beginning of 2006.

Commission adjustment !

Dear Traders,

as mentioned above I did use a high commission for the calculation of the hyp. trades. Because I am using my original entries/exits, these numbers already include any slippage. I will therefore reduce the margin to $30/round turn for the open outcry markets and $16 for the elec. markets per spreads unit.

Hyp. account is now at $50,315.

This makes it also easier for me to double check with my original trades because only the number of traded contracts is different.

I am still in LH-LH. Now with a stop at -2.175 and SM-BO with a stop at $3,306.

If SM-BO moves up nicely today I will try to catch some $$$.

I took some money on my SM-BO trade and got rid of 2 contracts at 4,080 (unfortunately I was not lucky with my execution this time). My mental stop is now at break even.

Hyp. profit is $820 - $60 commission = +$760.

Hyp. account now at $51,075.
