Today’s Day Trading – 10/13


Euro FX 10 minutes: 7:20am – Short TTE (RH) at 12259, initial stop at 12266 – covered first lot at 12254 (time stop), second at 12239. 8:10am – Short TTE (RH) at 12233, initial stop at 12244 – all out at b/e (time stop). 8.30am – Long TTE (1-2-3) at 12242, initial stop at 12232 – all out at 12240 (time stop).

Result for today: +21 ticks (+$262.50)


Mini Dow 5 minutes: 12:40pm – Short TTE (RH) at 9977, initial stop at 9985 – covered first lot at 9967, second at 9962.


Result for today: +25 ticks (+$125)


To be consistent with my recordings I add my monthly summary (hypothetical result due to 2 contracts):

Hi ADLE,

I only have a target for my first lot. For my second lot I use a trailing stop. I trail on the high/low of the last finished bar (depends on the time frame I have used for my entry. If I enter on 30 min. I use 30 min. for my trailing stop).

I will post my Trading Plan over the weekend again. I have done some small changes.

Time Frame: 10, 30 and 60 minutes (chart includes also night session, bars are starting at 7.20am for Euro FX and Mini DOW and at 8.30am for the Mini Russell 2000)

Trading Hours: 7.20am – 3.15pm CST, Monday till Friday

# of Lots: 2

Entry Method: My entry is based on Ross Hooks and 1-2-3 Formations. I am using the Traders Trick Entry up to 3 correcting bars. For more information on my entry methods please see http://www.tradingeducators.com/trading_philosophy/the_law_of_charts.htm

Report: I am not trading 5 minutes before and after a report comes out. If possible I try to enter but move my stop (if possible to b/e) very close at the time the report comes out.

Initial Stop: High/Low of the previous 5 minute bar (will trail my stop on the entry)

Time Stop: I get out if the trade doesn’t move into my direction after a few minutes.

Targets: First target 10 ticks.

Trailing Stop: After 8 ticks I move my stop to b/e. I trail my second lot based on the 30/60 minute bars.

Quit Trading: I will quit trading after 2 losing trades (indices and Euro FX separately)

Add. Comment: No trading one day before a holiday and no trading in the week of the roll over! I am trading the 10 minute charts only till 11.00am (the indices only till 10.00am) and only on strong moves.

Mini Russell 10 minutes: 9:30am – Long TTE (1-2-3) at 5684, initial stop at 5676 – all out at 5679.
