Andy's Day and Position Trading Journal

08/23

It was a good day today. First I thought I will never find an entry into the Russell, but I got in on a Ross Hook based on a 1000tick chart.

I did short 4 contracts, because the market was really week.

I did scalp 3 contracts and let the last one run, trailing on the 1000tick bars.

Well, all I can recommend is "trade only when the market is moving". Whenever the market is moving fast, you don't have to put on much risk. Whenever the market is just moving sideways, even when you are right, you will probably get stopped out.

The only problem is, it seems to be very difficult for a day trader to do "nothing" and to wait for the right moment.

Try to be patient, and try to jump into the trade at the right moment.

Happy trading,
Andy

OK Guys,

after trading the $20k account over a few weeks, we decide to move our big accounts as well. I am not going to be able to show the trading details (numbers) anymore but I am going to show the trades on the charts. I hope you understand. I will also post the details for the trades.

I am in ES at the moment, trying to get into a longer trade. Up to know, not much movement.

Will let you know.

Regards,
Andy

Hi Andy,

Any chance you can post the link to the actual chart rather than the area? Being a lazy cuss I tend to give up trying to find it rather quickly! Hows Joe nowadays btw? Do you keep in quite close touch.

Cheers,
Nick.

Just look at the time, it will make it easy to find! (see pic)

Trade 09/01

I got into my first trade a bit late today. Long the Dow at 11446. My stop was only 10 ticks, same as my first target, second target would have been 30 ticks.

I took profit on the first lot because the market didn't want to move higher and it was already 10:00 AM. I got stopped out with my second lot at break even.

I am allways carefull trading in front of a holiday.

Have all a long and nice weekend,
