...And They Have a Plan. (Live.)

I pulled the 1 point below and put one on at 3548 in MES March'23. Originally had it for 3 contracts, but when I pulled the order and watched the carnage, I decided 1 maybe a better choice leaving the option to add to a loser at a lower level. Oh brother that is not positive thoughts or good trading.
I won't continually post in your thread; just thought I'd pass on since I said I would eventually get back to longer term trading.

Hey no problem man, I love discussing swing-trading on forward futures. It has always been kinda' my thing as a swinger. I just pulled up the MES 2023 for March. Did you get that entry? If so you are already up 160 points!

What is amazing is that I still have it. I can't tell you how hard it is not to take the profit and run. Now I wish I had gone with the 3 so I could have taken a partial. I am committed to the hold. See what happens.

Here's the fun thing about your position as a swing. You can hold that puppy tight to your chest and run through the November election, and if signposts lead to north, you can layer in with a June 23 contract to double your winnings if the bulls go back on parade after the December expiry.

As lame as ever, I couldn't pass on 300 pts. I only wish I had taken an ES instead. I had the next Fed meeting in my head and figured I can get back in if they put out another crap statement.

Dude, you made major coinage on a 300 point gain. Don't sweat the details. :-)

Wow, I actually tried to day-trade yesterday, and made a tiny bit of money. Whoopey. I had to reset the starting date of the performance to Aug 10, and so because of the funny way NT 7 works the last MYM trade I made in the previous update of live trading does not show up, since it was opened in May.

Wowee. Look at the guts I have! I managed a whole 2 losers and 2 winners on the biggest up day for the markets in 2 1/2 years. I am pissed at my Dow trades, because I entered them during the NYC martini lunch hour, when rallies fade a bit and I kept my stops too tight on an obvious uptrend day.

I am now seeing what market behavior looks like on a softer-than-expected print in a high-inflation environment in a holiday quarter. Such a long learning-curve this one has been.

Always something new to learn.

The open trade I still have in MNQ is getting better, but I am darn sure this one will be at a loss in 5 weeks...

Onward!

Welp, the time is coming soon that I am going to have to close the MNQ trade at a loss, currently down 4K on ONE contract. Fascinating, isn't it? Problem is, I cannot roll it yet because the roll just happens to coincide with Powell and the FOMC that week. Great timing!

Here's how I feel after my longest-trade ever in my career...

Edit: That history eraser button exists someone on this site. It is here! I will eventually find it.

Continuing from trade #6 above...

That's it. That's all there is. One lousy scalp during ETH on Monday evening.

The time is nigh for the open MNQ. Just two more weeks...
