As Donald Trump's campaign reels over tapes of the presidential candidate's sexually aggressive comments about women in 2005, the Republican nominee now trails Hillary Clinton by double digits among likely voters, according to a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.

The poll, conducted on Saturday and Sunday but before the second presidential debate, shows Clinton with 46 percent support among likely voters in a four-way matchup, compared to 35 percent for Trump.

Libertarian Gary Johnson's support stands at nine percent, and Green Party candidate Jill Stein garners two percent. In a head-to-head matchup, Clinton's lead over Trump grows to 14 percent (52 percent to Trump's 38 percent.)

And among all registered voters, Clinton's lead is 13 points, her largest advantage over Trump since the poll began testing the pair last September.

As Republicans grapple with how to hold on to control of the House and Senate despite the Trump campaign's woes, Democrats overall now have a seven-point advantage on the question of which party voters want to see in control of Congress.

Forty-nine percent of voters say they'd like to see Democrats in power on Capitol Hill, compared to 42 percent who chose the GOP.

That's up from a three-point advantage for Democrats (48 percent to 45 percent) last month, and it's the largest advantage for Democrats since the October 2009 government shutdown...

Drumpf may get a point or three back, since a sizeable number of persons value his aggression over substance.

I sometimes shake my head when Republicans don't point out in the debates Hillary and Bill Clinton colossal mistakes re: US Economy. There is a direct route to the removal of Glass-Steagall and huge job losses in this country. All to appease Wall Street.

we have made that point here many times. the charge was lead by rubin and sandy ________another banker and Clinton on the dem side and a republican senator. Was it Graham.

the end of glass steagall has really hurt the foundation of us economy and created the unprecedented control of both parties because bankers now have control of many of the industries and all the money.

The problem with that is if they do attack the repeal of Glass-Steagall then they're implicitly supporting regulation, which would of course be "socialism!"
:D

nbc has been crap poll throughout the season.
they have the dems plus 7 with strong democrats.
Hillary is probably leading but not by much outside the margin for error when you unskew.

for instance the cnn snap poll had 58% democrats last night. and then a mix of republicans and others. is it a wonder why they found 57% picked clinton the winner?

that is not what free and fair trade posits. t
hat is the bizzaro straw man argument of a leftist.

creating more competition instead of concentration and monopoly is necessary for a free trade environment. We also need to end currency pegging and protectionism.

but if other countries are doing it... its stupid to argue free and fair trade in that arena.

Bullshit. The argument goes that if markets were truly left to be free, then burned consumers would stop buying the products and services of businesses, for example banks which gamble with the depositor monies, and those banks would go out of business. No need for government involvement in the market.

your bank example is not relevant...

the govt has already chosen one national privately controled bank to issue money. the FDIC is just an insurance front. the truth is the Federal Reserve bank can create trillions of dollars to cover loses and buy crap loans as they did during the mortgage crisis.

free trade never meant monopolies. it means free trade in a environment of real competition.

For the same reason they don't complain about not one single prosecution from the 08 finacial crisis. They expose the whole corrupt relationship by doing so. Lip service is the best we'll see
