Analog or Digital

Hey tech guys,

I'm shopping for 19" LCD monitors. It seems the less expensive ones only have an analog connection. I've never used a digital connection. Could you please tell me if there is a big difference or if I would ever need it?

Thank you,

Johnny Utah

If you have a quality video card, VGA is excelent. However, digital is *slightly* sharper.

(I use all VGA)

In my experience, it's quite better, not just slightly sharper.

I went from analog to digital, like the digital much better.
I use a BFG TECH card with 2 DVI outputs that works great on 20 inch screens.

digital ONLY - and go with 20's or bigger - u can only display 1280x1024 on most 19's - 19" 1280x1024 = 1.3K pixels vs. 20" 1600x1200 = 1.9K pixels

So far, two votes for analog and two votes for digital. Thanks for the input.

Should I be concerned with my monitors becoming outdated or useless by buying the analog ones instead of the digital ones?

I have two analog monitors with one switching between two computers. I have significant picture degradation through the KVM switch and would recommend digital for that reason.
