Hey, I never said I'm liberal. Well, to be honest, I don't read much of her writing, but I used to get the general impression that she was merely ranting. Also, effective responses don't require name calling.

It's not like people haven't tried to do most of that. California passed a referendum denying welfare, etc to illegals and some liberal federal judge ruled it was unconstitutional. The democrat governor of California at the time refused to appeal it, leaving it as the law.

We've been trying to build a fence since at least the Bush administration. We built the Hoover dam, I believe it was, in four years, but for some reason it takes decades and billions of dollars to build a simple fence. You almost might suspect that the government really didn't have its heart in the project. Or maybe it just reflects our growing incompetence and inability to do anything, except maybe play video games. We sent a man to the moon 40 odd years ago. We couldn't do it today. Even if we could, we couldn't afford it. Maybe we could hire a Chinese company to build it for us.

I think it would be easier and cheaper to lay a 100 yard wide mine field along the border. If someone sets off a mine you leave the body there and replace the spent mine. Anyone who makes it through the mines gets catapaulted back over the border. I think that would do it.

It would be cheaper, and we are already deep in debt.
