An analogy for Coinbase from the 90s

one is the first way to do trustless transactions instantly and at extremely low cost anywhere in the world with no 3rd party involvement. Allows for a beater asset that can’t be confiscated giving billions property rights they currently don’t have.

one is a stuffed animal.

help me out here
I think he's saying the crypto itself is like the stuffed animal, not the "trustless transactions." The "trustless transactions" are the process by which the stuffed animals change hands.

This thread is more of a price comparison, not utility. But tell me again why Bitcoin is better at money transfer than Bitcoin cash or Ethereum?

Do you know why we don't use the old phones with the rotation dials? because phones have improved in the last 100 years. So who cares what was first if it was shit at its execution?

And yes, I remember 2 years ago when TXs fees were $40, so nobody used it as a payment. Don't even get me started on the energy usage...

Divorcing like it is 1999. The judge ordered the divorcing couple to decide "right here, right now", who gets which baby:

A better analogy from the ‘90s is eBay, i.e., comparing eBay with Coinbase.

eBay became the marketplace to sell Beanie Babies, Cabbage Patch Kids, etc.

Still, I think the analogy is a loose one.

Beanie babies was cultural in nature. I don't think it was that popular outside of the US.

Coinbase is an exchange, so not sure how this comparison even work

Bitcoin, Ethereum/crypto are basically financial technology/instrument

I'm confused bro

Nope, most of the thing you buy on Ebay are useful. And not incredibly overpriced. Actually, the online marketplace competition drives the price of the similar products DOWN.

So bad analogy...
