I'll admit that at first I was instinctively inclined to defend Tim from all the bashers here. He's a cocky/eccentric trader of Jewish ethnicity who became entry-level rich at a very young age. Have you figured out yet why I'd be naturally inclined to side with him? Those same traits describe ME too. Hell, I even used my Bar- Mitzvah money to start trading at age 18! My results were a bit different than Sykes', however; I ran my $4,000 of Bar Mitzvah money up to $13,000 and then lost every penny.... but I was trading Israeli stocks by phone from my army base in 1993, not trading online during the tech bubble.
Anyways, for some reason I also thought Tim shared my approach to brutal honesty at all times... but apparently I messed up on <i>that</i> one.
I have never seen a group of traders express so much antagonism against someone. What is the big deal? Who cares what this dudes success or failures were? So what if he is selling a book! What if all of you guys got hammered this way when you messed up? Anyway, me thinks it is an out of normal negative reaction. This guy is acting more civil than you guys are. Some of your posts have alot of vulgar language. I have to ask myself who is acting like a kid here????

Exactly RM. That was my point. It's one thing to ACTUALLY put on the trade, and another to post some fantasy trade. Hey..if Tim really did the trade and made money than I would say "nice trade". But to come on here and post some trade which no way in hell really could be executed and say "look...a winner" is crap.
I rarely post any of my trades (not a big fan of posting them in a public place....and trust me....this week if anyone followed me they would not have been happy), but when I do the position is really on. I know you have posted some trades before also and I am pretty damn sure you are really in them. So unless Tim is really trading, he should keep his fantasy trades to himself. Reminds me of the guys we used to have on the simulator yrs ago...they were bold as can be...but once they went live things were very different.

It's obvious that Timmy's plan is to post fantasy trades that are all but impossible to do and then take credit for his calls. That way he can lure newbies in with his "track record" of successful trades.
You were being ridiculous saying things like "Pros like me love when retail guys place their stops....blah blah blah". Tim....you call yourself a hedge fund...perhaps legally you were...but in reality you were a guy trading a 2 million dollar retail account (nothing wrong with that...but quit acting like you were Stevie Cohen).
You say placing a stop at round numbers like 20.00 is stupid...that the stop should be placed at 20.03 ? Newsflash Timmay Cohen...the rookies who place these stops at 20.03 will almost definitely get hit at 20.03 when the stock trades 20.00....the round number stops get hit pushing out to the .03 and .05 stops. So the "rookies" will now get filled even worse following your advice.

Timmay reminds me of those guys you used to see on Sportschannel early on Saturdays screaming about their football picks.....used to see being the key words. They were football handicappers who also had great ideas and charged money for them. They couldnt lose...here's how.
1. Lamb # 1 calls in...asks for winner of Giants /Jets game.
2. Guy on tv gives him Giants.
3. Lamb # 2 calls in for same game.
4. Timmay ...I mean guy on tv gives him Jets.
5 Giants Win.
Timmay forgets Lamb # 2 and then calls Lamb # 1 blabbing about what a great pick it was. A NO LOSE situation.
Tim is pulling the same shit on here....will talk about the wins...and overlook the losses. Even worse....he is giving out both sides of the trade.
