can't really understand why Amazon fired CA associates. just lower their advertisement cut by the amount of state tax.

i guess Amazon wants to piss off as many people as possible so that they complain to CA law makers.

good for them. you need to go the cheapest route, just like traders will go with the cheapest commissions. stupid not too. I know they just hired 300 people here in Phx, az (its a logistics center)

I know of a way they can collect those taxes. I am surprised they did not come up with it. If the Governor of California is reading this and is interested to know, PM me and make an offer.

That's the whole issue - if I buy something from a vendor out-of-state and don't pay use tax on it, it still needs to get delivered to me, using local roads, using local resources. The use of those local resources is not being paid for when you purchase from another state.

So, the delivery company in your state doesn't pay any taxes when it buys fuel and tires? Doesn't pay any taxes when it pays its employees?

Dreaming up more ways to extort tax money from the citizenry is not the job of the government.
