I see. The Dems getting ready to go down this roadm -link below- to see if they can salvage something out of their total loss on this nomination.
Nope. She should not be commenting one way or the other on any cases that could be coming immediately before her, and she needs precisely ZERO of their votes to be confirmed and she is going to get precisely ZERO of their votes even if she agrees to this condition.
One can equally argue that the dems do not want her to rule on anything involving the election because they are planning shenanigans and want to influence the court structure to help them get away with it. That's why the people need to have a full court in place. She needs to be careful too about giving away the farm just to be conciliatory toward the dems. She could easily lose a vote or two if she says she is going to stand down on election issues. The republicans are not going to let the system be rigged against them this time when they had to put up with the swamp undermining them all the way through and the election and into the presidency of Trump.
She should not let them even draw her into that discussion. In reality though, she should stand ready to be nominated and hear any elections case ON AN EXPEDITED BASIS. Also, it is doubtful that either trump or biden will prevail on all of the cases they bring after and during the election. So, no one should start feeling uppity and smirking like the cat that swallowed the canary if trump loses a few or Barrett rules against him or some. It goes with the turf and will for Biden as well. In general though, it is quite safe to say that Trump will make out better with Barrett than if Ruthie were there even if she turns out to be less than the conservative Attila the Hun that all republican judges are portrayed as during nomination. Then suddenly they turn out to be moderate, because well, they always were.
Dems to insist Trump's court nominee sit out legal challenges to election results
(CNN)
Senate Democrats say they will press President Donald Trump's
Supreme Court nominee to commit to recuse herself if the justices hear a case that could impact the outcome of the fall elections, a request that could become a major flashpoint amid
Trump's persistent attacks on the legitimacy of the elections.
