You do realize that "standard daytrading margin" on ES is $5,280 per contract, yes?
That AMP offers less is them giving you a break and "loaning" you some sweat off the shirt off their own back?

Fair enough, but paying $3.50 round trip is a little different than paying $9.00. Like I said I guess this was my fault for checking "$300 margin" on the application but I thought I got it sorted out after submitting the new application after that. I'm just going to request to get that removed, doubt I will get anywhere. AMP has bigger clients to worry about

That isn't true, as I am small fish also yet they are attentive to my needs. Just have some patience.

Hah. /YM and /NQ come to mind. /YM has been killer lately but I don't have the margin to hold overnight. I've thought about dropping futures, and just stickin all this into some SPY calls but this is a ride I think I'll enjoy.

*smacks* YM has lower margin than NQ and ES. Silly. But you were speaking of daytrading so not sure why overnight holding even came up.
As for SPY calls, that is options and out of my league. Head to the options section for queries about that stuff. Lots of knowledge in there.
