AMP account funding

Does AMP charge 30 USD conversion fee, if I fund my AMP US account through a SEPA wire (EUR sent to barclays GB), but want the funds converted to USD (my base currency)?

YES. Your case is a perfect example.

Thats why I am confused. My base currency and most of my funds are in USD, but I sent a small amount of EUR through SEPA to AMPs account at barclays/GB. I was charged 30 USD for converting these 100 EUR to USD...
I actually managed to link my Wise US account to AMP for deposits and withdrawals through plaid. Not sure if that will work though, AMP normally does not allow transfers through Wise

That is what PLAID is supposed to be, a third-party interconnect between their bank (BMO Harris) and yours. Their new ACH.

You said most of your funds are in USD, why not wire USD to your AMP brokerage account then?

You first send the money from YOUR EURO bank account to YOUR USD bank account.
And only after that you send it from your USD bankaccount to AMP USD account.
So the money comes from YOU and not from WISE.
