All of you lefties and hollywood types who claim you care about the working man... this is your chance. Labor union members... stop your labor leaders in their tracks. They are trying to screw you over by creating more workers.

Labor leaders want more dues payers... union leaders want better jobs.

Who is telling you the truth here... the tea party or Obama Pelosi Reid Boehner McConnel McCain Ryan and the Cronies.

They are selling out the workers and taxpayers.

New polling data from Gallup shows that an overwhelming majority of Americans do not think handling immigration reform is even close to a top priority for 2014.



Immigration places well behind other issues like healthcare, jobs, the economy, dissatisfaction with Washington politicians, the debt and deficit, lack of money, ethics and moral issues, poverty, the gap between the rich and the poor, education, foreign aid and others. In fact, only three percent of Americans think the issue is a priority that must be dealt with this year.
“Americans start the new year with a variety of national concerns on their minds,” Gallup’s Lydia Saad wrote on Wednesday. “Although none is dominant, the government, at 21%, leads the list of what Americans consider the most important problem facing the country. The economy closely follows at 18%, and then unemployment/jobs and healthcare, each at 16%. No other issue is mentioned by as much as 10% of the public; however, the federal budget deficit or debt comes close, at 8%.”
In fact, immigration is so low among Americans’ priorities that Saad did not even mention it in her report on Gallup’s findings. It is, however, listed near the bottom of a chart of Americans’ priorities, slightly above welfare and “lack of respect for each other” as issues Americans think need to be dealt with.
Despite the fact that most Americans clearly do not think Congress or President Barack Obama should consider immigration issues a priority in 2014, House Speaker John Boehner and the rest of House GOP leadership are currently considering them a priority.

thats great... I have nothing against hard workers but, I would like to see my children protected from a future of crazy taxes and a worthless dollar. I would like to be protected from programs which will bring people into a social safety net which discourages people from working and encourages them to vote for democrats in exchange for more free ice cream.

There is a right way and a wrong way to enter the US. Millions of people here chose to do it the wrong way and now they want to get bailed out. Plenty of hardworking illegals here but also plenty of illegals selling drugs, in gangs, gaming our system and collecting benefits and $$ illegally.

Go learn about Ellis Island ... that's how immigrants came here for over 60 years.

Last, our unemployment situation is not as we hear on the news. The 6.7% unemployment rate is a joke. It's probably closer to 15% or more due to so many people who have given up hope and are no longer counted as unemployed. The percentage of working-age adults in the labor force — what's called the participation rate — fell to 63.3 percent last month. It's the lowest such figure since May 1979.

So we really don't need even more people flocking here since we have so many illegals currently. Fix the economy, fix healthcare, create meaningful jobs and down the road we can worry about immigration.

Yeah, that would be ideal if we didn't have a huge welfare state that they can immediately latch onto and force us to pay for them and their huge families, crime, education, health care, etc.

No rich country can have open borders and a welfare state. Milton Friedman made that observation decades ago, and it remains true.

All this libertarian nonsense about the free flow of labor is just code talk for getting cheap workers. We have seen what happens: 30 million illegals and immense politcal pressure to convert them into voting citizens who can then support the exact policies that made their former homes unlivable.
