americans want imaginary spending cuts.

Quote from Free Thinker:

let me rephrase it so even you can understand. americans want spending cuts if its someone elses program that gets cut. they will not allow their favorite subsidy to be cut. their represenative in congress will fight to make sure their favorite program is not cut. multiply that scenario by 435 times and you fail to get meaningful cuts in anything.

again, horseshit. the majority of americans are pepared for tough choices as long as the government ALSO makes hard choices. the bush tax cuts were the perfect example of it. you said on this forum (or one of your parallel kooks) many times that most americans wanted them to expire. doesnt that go in the face of what youre saying here?

the issue is that most americans were prepared to pay higher taxes IF and ONLY IF the government could cut spending as well. instead, the government extended the taxes, gave us more cuts and didnt drop spending.

as for this american, cut it all. all of it. across the board by a percentage related to it's portion of the total budget. bigger programs have to cut deeper.

you wont find one single program i would support keeping whole. not one.

you will not even get a vote for an across the board cut of all spending out of the republicans because that will make it inpossible for individual congress members to protect their pet programs just as i laid out to you in the simplest possible terms.
