Straw man, nobody is talking about banning guns. Pathetic slippery slope gibberish.
Give the DMV the job of registering them. They already match cars to owners and have the IT infrastructure etc. in place. Buy a car, you tell the DMV, same with a gun. The government can't seriously go after gun owners as everyone has one anyway. It would be like going after car owners.

TBH you are correct, it would work and perhaps a future Trump/Putin inspired totalitarian party will order Tsing to give up his toys and he will do it with very little pressure. All this talk about protecting liberty is just blowhard crap.

Doubt most of us Americans are thinking of "overthrowing the government". We just don't want to be at the mercy of a dictatorial, Lefty tyrant.
"When the government fears the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny". This is what American gun ownership is mostly about....that and the right/ability to possibly defend one's self/family from criminals.
The Lefties want to disarm Americans... so that the Lefty government can run roughshod over the people without fear of armed resistance. We should never go along with disarmament, regardless.
