You have to feel bad for the guy. I mean stimulus checks only go so far in San Francisco. In addition, no bail required policies means these guys are back out on the street quicker and thus have higher expenses than they would being locked up. Even further, we must consider the emotional trauma involved with robbing someone. Their “Customer” is typically not happy to see them and there is the real risk of vigilantism.
Until we put ourselves in the shoes of a criminal, we will never appreciate the trials and tribulations they face. It is in this light, I propose “Safe zones” for criminals where victims are required to be understanding, polite, and cooperative towards their robber along with automatic, increased penalties against vigilantes.
The above policy will go a long way to relieve the stress, prejudice, and even physical harm facing our unfairly maligned criminals.
It wouldn’t be justice if the robbed reporter wasn’t granted an exclusive interview by his robber as part of an expose on the plight of criminals in San Francisco, would it?
