Notice that the word God is used and also capitalized? Notice that word Creator is used and capitalized?
Who do you think was the "Lord" in in the attestation clause at the end of the doent where it says ""in the year of Lord one thousand, seven hundred...."
The Framers clearly accepted the concept of God, and did not intend for the words or concept of God not to be used.
Freedom of religion means freedom to practice the particular religion of choice. If you want to practice the religion of Atheism and Science, feel free hang a slide rule or calculator from the Christmas tree.
