For the last ~100 years or so, America has been being chipped away by Liberal, Leftist greed and lust for power.

As long as only half of Americans pay income tax, but everybody gets a vote (even worse that Liberals want illegal aliens to be able to vote, too).... it's becoming more and more like "2 wolves and a lamb debating 'what's for dinner'?"

Thanks to Liberalism and the MSM, America is doomed.

I've never understood why all the liberals who are trying to change so much about the US don't do precisely that.

Perhaps because they're optimists living with a hope for betterment rather than under a constant cloud of doom and gloom like your paranoid friend, who only sees mortal enemies wherever he turns.

Perhaps Scataphagos (and others) believe that the changes these folks you call "optimists" are looking for are not for the better and are actually detrimental to the free spirit in which the country was founded on. There are many on the left who are both paranoid and full of doom and gloom regularly. The only difference is that they seem to be wanting to change things and conservatives want things to go back to the way they were. Not everything, mind you, but to throw around phrases like "hope for betterment" is a bit reckless when "betterment" is an opinion.

Imagine... it is NEVER going to get better in America... only worse from here. The best you can hope for is to get to live out your life before you get swallowed up. As for our kids and grandkids, that's hopeless.
