amen
everytime I watch that I learn something.
is it really true that political self interest is nobler somehow than economic self interest?
what a powerful point to make.
+10 and cue for rectum to spew some diarrhea about the rich stealing their $ from the poor.I agree, infact you coluld take that argument a step further and say that a person who is looking out for there own economic interest has no control over your life, where as a person looking out for their political interest does, so which one should we be more worried about?

Except perhaps for the firm selling tainted milk. Sure, the business won't last, but they'll make their quick profit. On the other hand, you were free to choose untainted milk, so that business really didn't have any control over your life, you're right.
The government cant save every single life, You arent arguing principle, you are merely negotiating the number, see Milton Friedman, seems to me the government didnt pre-empt the recent deaths from GM vehicles, they only learned about it after the fact.
The government isnt innovative, they are reactionary, 99% of the time they create rules after people die, so its no different than business in that sense.
Anyway, all this is merely theoretical, since every economy on the planet is a mixed economy.
Maybe so, but the one thing that holds true is that all of the furthest left economies are a complete and utte disaster, venezuela, cuba, north korea, etc.... The one commonality is that the furthest left wing ideologies are full of pain and suffering. Where as the 1 economy that most closely represents a free market with basic fundamental laws has provided the highest standard of living for the most people.
