America is full of slackers and deadbeats who won’t work

Well, is being a slacker and a deadbeat much worse than writing a 2 page article that doesn't answer the real question: is participation rate declining in the 25-65 age group? More thinking and less writing is sometimes helpful.

USA net worth hit $82.9 trillion, perhaps people aren't working any more because they are wealthy enough not to. http://www.federalreserve.gov/releases/z1/current/z1.pdf There are people who bought dell or walmart or any number of stocks and put them in drip's and accumulated more, just saying

Some figures because your statement is completely false:
  • 20% of the population earns 80% of the total wealth in the US.
  • 80% of the population earns 20% of the total wealth in the US.

In 2012:
  • the top 1% had an average wealth of 14 mio $
  • the lowest 90% had an average wealth of 83 thousand $
Conclusion: 90% of the american population needs a job very hard to survive. 83 000 $ means less then a very small house.

The total and even the average wealth of Warren Buffett and me runs in the billions too.
A mouse ran through the dessert together with an elephant. The mouse said to the elephant: we make a lot of dust, don't we?

Hi Iamnobody, I was just saying because grandparents do have money and leave it to there heirs. So perhaps a young person might not be so inclined to take a $10 or $12 dollar per hour job when they have other options such as university. There are a great many people missing in this work force, I would think some might be in the underground economy but that wouldn't account for all of them. The underground economy is only around a trillion per year and we have 90 million missing workers so that economy can't account for all of them, just some of them. The wealth report I thought might offer a bit of a clue to those missing people, bill

Hi Stoic the Green River Shale area was worth $60 trillion before oil temporarily tumbled and yup equals about $200k per citizen. http://beforeitsnews.com/opinion-co...-the-green-river-formation-worth-2147997.html America is terribly wealthy and we shouldn't have as much federal debt as we do but there it is. I was only suggesting the wealth effect might account for some of the missing workers, we know millions are in the underground economy but how are the rest surviving is what everyone wonders.

Liberalism is the reason....

"... America is full of slackers and deadbeats who won’t work..."

And it will be the ruination of our once great country!

Had Liberals/Progressives NOT "transferred wealth from 'makers' to 'takers' in exchange for their vote", ne'er-do-wells would not be receiving nor expecting the government to "provide them a living... at the expense of other tax-paying-citizens... in exchange for their vote"... a "stage-4 cancer" for all that America was in the past.
