Amazon lays off 100,000 workers/staff after Netflix & Google

By Martine Paris | Bloomberg

With recession fears mounting—and inflation, the war in Ukraine and the lingering pandemic taking a toll—many tech companies are rethinking their staffing needs, with some of them instituting hiring freezes, rescinding offers and making rounds of layoffs.

Amazon.com Inc. was the latest company to discuss its belt-tightening efforts this week. During its quarterly earnings call Thursday, the e-commerce giant said it’s been adding jobs at the slowest rate since 2019. After relying on attrition to winnow its staff, Amazon now has about 100,000 fewer employees than in the previous quarter. Here’s a look at the companies tapping the brakes.

Only jobs I see are for below minimum wage work. US is in recession
Payment below minimum wage is illegal. Not that it doesn't happen, however I am interested how did you manage to see that situation existing?

Of course it is not true as the post is made by a Russian troll. Block him completely.

The city of Moscow alone lost 200,000 jobs because of the +1,000 Western companies that closed their business in Russia.

Thats quite old news, there is video of the zoom call, the CEO was pretty awkward, "the last time i did this, i cried", which i find hard to believe because he comes over as a typical corporate sociopath.
