I trade mainly futures on a day trading basis but do also take longer term trades in all markets. The reason for this journal is that trading is quite a solitary profession with quite a bit of waiting around between trades, so really this is something that will fill the time.

Trading is always an educational experience so hopefully by noting down my thoughts in this manner I will learn more about myself as a trader.

Hi, always interested to read about traders and their methodologies.

Which markets do you normally trade ?
 
I trade the Dax and NQ mainly.

I had a few trades early on today on the Dax but it has been really quiet since. No real follow through.

2 losses and 1 win for a 0.8% gain so far.
 
Hey Guys,
I am new here also.

Can you tell me what time (ET) you consider to be the OPEN of the Dax futures???

Hi,

I live in the UK and generally I trade it from 8am until anywhere between 3pm-5pm depending on whats going on.

The market itself however is open from 7am UK time and doesn't close until about 9pm... not that you would want to be trading then.

If I am still trading in the UK evening I will be focusing my attention on the NQ
