I don't think there really is such a thing as a patriotic rally. I think that is a CNBC-ism, something for the financial news people to talk about instead of having dead air. In general the news explanations for market movement are pulled out of thin air IMHO.

For money makers, I belief the up day is a result of lessening of uncertainties.
