Alternatives to TradeStation?

Please refer to the attached file.

I think they require a new machine code (activation code ) once you reinstall your OP

Metaserver is $168 and is frankly better. Main thing is that it has backfill (currently not working due to IB changes) can force a reconnection without restarting the program.

Thanks for the infomation as always. But currently my main concern is to be able to update the trailing stop price everybar , it seems that tradestation does not satisfy this function. So for the time being, I am putting aside the Hyperserver/metaserver + IB +hyperorder +tradestation combination and exploring the InvestorRT+Autotrader/Ninjatrader combination.

If you use IB then you can use TWS from IB for a trailing stop.

Regarding Tradestation and effective stop loss orders :
https://www.tradestation.com/support/whats_new/tradestation_0810_sp1.aspx
Latest release (always remember: latest is the greatest) supports OCO (Order Cancels Order), Bracketed OCO's (simultaneous profit target and stop loss are active), and finally OSO (Order Sends Order) which allows for an IMMEDIATE stop loss upon getting filled.

These are been LONG AWAITED enhancements and if they work as advertised, stop-loss order entry should be a simple bit of coding now. With Tradebolt for instance, I've seen some wild and hairy code needed to do the above.

Just21,

Do you know if the data will port into RadarScreen as well?

I may try the QC product for their Worldwide data, but I still need a scanner for U.S equities.

Quote from just21:

There is already a data feed converter that takes Reuters Bridgestation or the low cost re-badged equivalent from Equis Metastock Quotecenter and puts the backfill and realtime into Tradestation ....

The real time quotes received by the Data Feed application software will be converted by LinkServer2000
then sent to TradeStation2000i, to be archived in its Data Base and plotted on the TradeStation2000i charts.

I presume it means globalserver when they refer to the tradestation database. Do report back to the forum if you try it.

yes : "TS DataBase" refers to the \PDS folder, managed by GlobalServer.
LinkServer2000 works coupled with our SubServer (an original module we develop/maintain using the true TS API). It sends Realtime and Historical quotes straight forward to GlobalServer. The charts and RadarScreens will get updated accordingly.
LS2000 may include Automated Order Execution.
To test LS2000 or to suggest new brokers/feeds for order automation and integration, pls feel free in emailing me: I'm just updating the IFX,CBFX and Rtick8 versions to add order entry thru API.

I was under the impression that IB had six months of backfill available.

Does anyone know how many days of intra-day backfill data IB provides?
