max what is your deal??? so what if rs7 is off a year or 2...it was 30 YEARS AGO
The difference between the examples you gave is that you were not attending the schools represented in the Cotton Bowl or you would have remembered with distinct detail.
Rs7 tell us of a monumental (and presumambly memorable as he makes such a big deal about it) event that happened while he was a student, i.e. the very FIRST African-American football player to attend UM.
However, a few simple questions and it turns out that:
1.This event rs7 brags about occurred AFTER he left the school;
2. That the player he is so demonstrative about wasn't the first black player, he was the THIRD;
3. The very FIRST black player to attend UM was in 1966, certainly a large event for UM at the time, presumably when rs7 was a sophmore, if he even attended UM, which is now doubtful;
4. When rs7 was a Senior, the SECOND black player came to UM.
Rs7 attended the University of Miami during the FIRST and SECOND of these identical events, but now says that he witnessed the FIRST occurance. When challenged he says yes, that the player was the FIRST, but was redshirted, when in fact that player was still in high school. This is beyond the normal bounds of a "challenged memory moment."
