they (metallica) are unreal ! the power coming off the stage is mind boggling. i even get chills watching the DVD of them playing with the san fran orchestra-- symphonic metallica. the BEST heavy metal act ever, imho. are you into any of the new bands ?? i like "system of a down" among others---their singer is outrageous. i was seriously into the so-called "cross over" bands when i was a young man. bands like DRI, etc. punk bands who learned to play and leaned toward metal. speed metal.

take care,

surf:)

surf, you got that right! "System of a Down" is freakin great man!! I also like "Disturbed", "Alice In Chains" ( too bad about lead singer),

Rolling Stones w/ George Thorogood in 1981! Have seen the Stones every tour since. They'll be in LA next week -- I'll be there at Staples Center!

Saw 3rd Eye Blind play at a small private party (Paramour Mansion in Hollywood) -- pretty cool.

How 'bout this one -- saw Joan Jett play at a redneck bar @ Penn State in about '82. She was f*cked up (so were we). No one had ever heard of her, but she was one wild ass chick!

:p

Stones are hiss store eee man. Great at one time but ...there's a new sheriff in town

"can't get no satisfaction":D

ahh, do you mean tafkap?? or that gay little symbol that he is now?? prince, give me a break....

one of my faves was seeing the dead right before jerry passed on...great show. bob dylan playing together with paul simon in LA was epic as well.....

Greendog,

Prince was the opener for the Stones/Thorogood or maybe it was Guns-n-Roses at the coliseum one year. If it was Guns I apologize. I think the total time he was on stage was about 5 minutes. I mean everything was flying in from the audience, shoes, food, boots, belts, bottles. It was crazy.

Rest of the gig was good.

Needless to say the buds and booze have a way of clouding my memory........ :D
