It's expected. The people who drove Trump to victory in the election and surprised the media, the polls, etc did so because they are quiet and tolerant (for the most part) and are not the type of folks that would run through the streets destroying private property. They prefer to be left alone in their hard working lives, and would rather leave others alone as well, even when they don't agree with them.
It's the other side - the side that is on the public payroll (welfare), and doesn't work - the "entitled" - that goes looney tunes the moment they don't get their way. They are the loud dissenters. They are the intolerant. It is them you see on the news wrecking everything.
A conservative is OK with someone having an opposing view. Their philosophy is "they are entitled to think however they want, even if I disagree or think their way is stupid." Only Liberals try to actively change you into "the right way" (their way) of thinking.
