western society is secular. THIS is the main definition
of our culture. when russia was the opponent, did anyone
say:"we are christians and you are not"? no, we said
we are a secular government ruled by democracy and
individual rights. the latter btw include forming groups.
and as long as these groups respect the overall rules
there is no problem with them, may you call them
minority or whatever.
old india was a place where all religions where welcome
and for centuries muslims, hindus, christians and
buddhists could coexist. it is not the belief itself which
is the problem but its abuse by militant power that
can distort everything, even the most peaceful
conviction.
american policy has become a danger. america's inner
corruption, namely the links between politics and
media (fox) as well as politics and the military complex
are very big problems. shere military power seems to be
the justification for everything. and the inviation of
extreme christians has led to these various darwin-
bashing local laws. christian fundamentalists are as
much danger as muslims. funny that the government
seems to have much less problem with them ...
