Algo & Quant traders

What do you mean by 'printing'???

If you want to know what returns I had, I was uncorrelated:
Jan 2020 me +9.7% S&P 0%
Feb 2020 0.2% -8.2%
Mar 2020 -0.2% -12.4%
Apr 2020 -1.6% 12.8%
May 2020 2.1% 4.8%
Jun 2020 3.8% 2.0%
Total 14.0% -3.1%

GAT

Question on what are you actually "quanting"? Wouldn't a continuing decreasing range just be a triangle? Aren't chart patterns just visualizations of the more common anomalies? I believe that Simmons did a lot with fractals for instance...which are clearly visible with candlesticks.

Richard Simmons? Yeah, I hear he’s big on candlesticks.

Man, quit making up your own definition. Fractial is about anomalies, not candlesticks or pivot points.

So you don't think catching price at the beginning of a reversal to maximize profit and reduce risk is important? Lol

HAHHAHAHA! Jim Simons talks about time series when asked about his method of trading.

I'm telling you guys, Simons figured out the market is actually determined. It took him teams physicists, mathematicians, astronomers to get there...but no finance people as he mentioned. Finance people can be smart in finance but dumb in critical thinking. A finance person could never fathom such a thing.

Astrologists?

Astrologists?

Astronomers! Think about it, why would you hire astronomers or physicists for finance unless the data started to present a deterministic nature or you had a presumption that it might?
