You expect civility, and then make posts like this. My "latest attempts to add facts" did not fail utterly. You didn't like the source I used to support something I wasn't even trying to debate (where Europeans go on holiday). The point I was trying to make was that people will visit Greece if (when) they leave the EU. d08 said the Shengen issue would be a problem, but I said it wouldn't, and pointed to where europeans take holiday to places outside the EU. That's all my point is. Instead, you and he continue to try to drive home that the article I referenced wasn't accurate when it pointed out the top 5 European destinations. Who the fuck cares? The point was that Europeans go outside the EU for vacation, and they still will visit Greece when it is outside Shengen. That was the point. Instead you two monkeys focus on a statistical error in the article (which I admitted to many times over by now).

Can't you read? Obviously not, as I specifically said "From my observations". Since you designated yourself as the English guru of this thread, you should know that is very different from presenting something as fact (as you did).
I don't understand why you compare me to a "know-it-all", I merely presented German tourism numbers and my own observations on European tourism.
Not sure what value you have added thus far except "Greece will default". Is that your only point? If yes, we got it.
I was raised and educated to condemn prejudice especially against race or even country, therefore I loath to agree with volpunter, but i must admit some stereotypes are based on a sprinkle of truth. ugh just saying that makes me feel guilty.
we discussed that already long time ago, you are circling around the same point. You have already been shown that there is no reason why in the future tourism should generate more revenue for Greece than it has before and during the crisis. How would tourism after a default generate more income than it has before the crisis. The opposite will most likely hold true, actually: A lot of Greek assets will have to be sold to Chinese and Russian investors if Greece decides to choose default. That money will not end up in any Greek pockets. Nor will Greece expand geographically and hence not more tourist destinations will open up in Greece. Add to that that most Europeans will make wide circles around Greece, including those who may have enjoyed Greece before. You know, being duped does make an impression on whose being cheated. Aggregating all that we could agree on a base level that is similar to before the crisis and that is not enough to cause a turnaround in Greek finances. But there is no good reason to assume that Greek tourism will revert to levels higher than before the crisis or good years such as 2014. Can we now please move on to different issues? I honestly beg you because "your thread" otherwise will become incredibly boring.
