In the actual situation apparently Greece will run out of money in March already. And I am afraid things will become worse in the following days.

You mentioned before that people in the thread should post sources for information, I'm asking you to do the same.

Croatia is a somewhat "new" destination for now, attracting people for first time visits.

You see from the numbers that Greece is already posting huge numbers in tourism, even with this great asset their economy is dead. The idea that with the drachma there will be a further increase isn't very realistic.

I don't care who he criticizes. It's just that he continues to call Greeks "savages" and blames the US problems on the Jews. You don't think there are issues with blanket statements like that? You support these types of beliefs? I guess you are. My bad, go on blaming. Get it out of your system.

As for your FT article, I long canceled my access to that site so I cannot read your article.

We can debate European destinations for tourism if that's the subject you'd like to discuss. Is it? My point is Greece will do just fine with a cheap drachma - both export and through tourism - once the chaos settles. Prove me wrong.

As for Croatia being somewhat new, there were plenty of Europeans there back when I went to Hvar in 2005. But who knows? Maybe some of you folks are just catching on.

I pointed out that your source was completely and utterly wrong if you even read the first few lines on that page:
"So, after scouring social sites, Fodor’s, and many other travel related discussion boards, here is my completely unscientific list of the top five tropical destination Europeans are flocking to."

This tells me you don't properly research the things you post as "facts" on ET and that's relevant to any topic for me.

First FT article is typically free, I'm not a subscriber but I managed to read it. Basically it said that Greece is posting record tourist numbers, there is no downturn anymore.
The "proof" in the article is that Greek tourism numbers can't expand into infinity and this might be a top, therefore having a cheap drachma won't do much good.

Croatia is definitely a newer holiday spot compared to Portugal, Greece or Spain which have been popular since the 80s and earlier.

I don't agree with everything volpunter has said but he is right that many greeks are simply mocking all other Europeans out there both with their actions and their attitude, as a previous taxpayer to EU - that is most definitely unsettling.
