Alexander Elder

I have read his books. Although they don't teach you how to make profits, they have taught me to limit my losses and they have taught me to feel comfortable, relaxed and less stress in my trading. I now have less stress, lower losses and therefore, higher profits in the last 10 months. I was just wondering whether the seminars can teach me more than I have already learned.

Any comments would be appreciated.

I have no idea what you have learned. In his seminars he touches on different subjects and has time limitations. He goes through step by step with examples of trading and answers questions as well. If one is prepared he can help you , if he can't he may point you in the direction you need. Should I be at an Expo again and he was there , I would take his seminar again.

I see your Point torontoman I often wonder about the seminars Myself.
that why i wanted to go to one. I like the way he teaches
Can you get more out of a seminar than a book or CD ?

Quote from NickBarings:

I found his "Trading for a living" an

eyeopener on the psychological level,

a sincere guy in my humble opinion

yea- i liked the comparison between losers & alcoholics. brilliant. but the rest imo is just the same old - same old.

I agree with you, Nick.

The books have changed my trading and my life.

After reading "Trading For a Living", I fully took the emotion out of trading and it has helped alot.

Maybe I should go to the seminar, because the gains, financially and psychologically, that I have received from his books are much more than the costs associated with going to his seminar.

What do you think?

Excellent commentary....

What you should be picking up on is...

How to make money selling:

Books...CDs...Tapes...Seminars...etc...

This would be an accurate view of his ability to make money....

Obviously caught a few fish here.....

Good luck to all of course....and welcome to the educational morasse on Wall Street....

Libertad,

Look, maybe the book(if you have read
it at least) was not of value to you BUT
for me I started to understand the mechanismes involved with this trading
gaming and I made a jump, immediately
after I had read that book, in my trading
behaviour ; I started practicing self-
reflection; why I took each trade, was it
a revenge trade, a trying to get my money back trade,etc.....

SO give some people a chance to
find value in that book and maybe in
his seminar

Thank YOU.

Depends who is giving the seminar. As far as Dr. Elder is concerned the book addresses the masses. His speaking to a couple of hundred people will address them. His seminars to 20 or so will address those 20 or so people. I was fortunate to be in a small group.

Erierambler,

And what did you think of the seminar ?

I enjoyed it as he uses humour as well. Should the opportunity arise , I would do it again. He strikes me as a man with integrity, well educated and informed. He's approachable and sincere. Has an agenda for the seminar that he follows through, the rest is up to you. Take good notes for one is overwhelmed with information.
