Really? So how many of you here had previously referred to Bush as being elitist. After all, he had no time for regulatory reform or environmental reform, thereby favoring the corporate elite at the expense of the little guy and his wellbeing. His tax cuts disproportionately favored the rich. He took no steps to curtail the outsourcing taking place on his watch, and had no problem supporting tax cuts for those companies that actively engaged in the outsourcing of jobs. How, exactly, was he a man of the people? Because he had a folksy manner of speech and occasionally wore a cowboy hat at his ranch? Is that all it took for you guys?
Okay, just don't forget that the Right tried to thwart Obama at every term and on every issue. He was essentially wading through molasses. Their slogan may as well have been, "If he fails, we win -- whatever the cost." Such lofty ideals, but not particularly constructive for the country.Quote from Hello:
Bush was an elitist as well, but bush never exactly made any attempts to hide the fact that he was also out there to help big business.
Obama ran as the great uniter who was going to fix all the middle classes problems, and make the oceans recede and yadda yadda yadda, then when things got tough and the voters got mad, he started saying that the people were just confused, because of their anger, and he quit listening, to the people, so it should come as no surprise that the left is turning on him as is the right because he refuses to listen to anyone anymore thus making him an elitist. He seems to fit the profile of a political elitist to a tee.... say whatever you need to in order to get elected then do whatever the hell you want once you get your foot in the door.

Not that I recall but then I didn't perceive him as acting like a condescending elitist the way Dumbo does either.Quote from Gabfly1:
... Just to be fair, Lucrum, did you also call Bush an elitist?
Actually it's a "party size" dick. And why are you staring at my crotch again?Or is that a dog whistle in your pocket?
