I have a theory that is based completely on non eco thought.

It says use theirs and save ours until we need it (which if we do the right thing with alternative research might well be never).

OK, it's time for the Bush-lickers to jump in here and yell about how the Artic plain is a wasteland, good for nothing but oil production. Worthless and ugly. God put it there for us to have another place to pump oil.

Well, I've been there and I can tell you we do not have many places left like this on the planet. So, what is the rush? Bush owes the industry...it's payback time.
