Right on schedule? August is the big month for gulf storms. Nothing happening. Gore supporters have about 4-6 weeks for a disaster to happen.
Even if that happens, Gore is such a fuck up he'll find a way to blow a sure thing just like he did in 2000.

There is no other chance for Al Gore â He will be too old in 8 years, and he would have lost most of the connection to the 1990âs.
Timing is everything in life â and for Al Gore his time to run for president is in 2008 or the other choice is to retire permanently from politics. There is always playing golf, building houses, writing books, getting lots of money for speeches, and so onâ¦
Al Gore will be too old in 8 years time and he will be out of touch with the fast moving world of the 21st century â a world that today moves at the speed of light.
For all practical purposes Al Gore got all the publicity and mileage that he could get from the issue of âGlobal Warmingâ â if he is really serious about that subject then he has to move to the next level.
The next level is to become president of the United States and actually do something concrete about the US and global energy policies and so onâ¦.
There is no place where he could have a bigger impact regarding the environment than by becoming the president of the United States.
Al Gore future has two paths:
1) Become the new president elected of the United States in November of 2008 â and actually have the power to do something major and concrete about âGlobal warmingâ.
2) Become an irrelevant politician to be left behind by time, splendidly stuck in time with an old slide show about âGlobal warming.â
Al Goreâs credibility is at stake here â is he really serious about âGlobal Warming?â
Then do something about it â go to the next level.

I don't see him making another Presidential run unless Hillary falters badly, which she doesn't seem to be doing. Unfortunately, he won't get a boost from the Peace Prize because he won't win it. Gore has made far too much off his speaking tour (roughly $175K per speech except for schools and non profit orgs). He has also received large sums from various companies which endorse him. Basically, he is enriching himself substantially. If he donated all the profits that would be one thing, but he is not doing this.
I do believe he would be the best President of the group however.

Now forecast to mushroom into a Category 4 hurricane with 135 mph sustained winds, Tropical Storm Dean was still in position to easily attack the U.S. East Coast as it plowed west across the Atlantic on Wednesday.
On the other hand, the forecast track was being steadily adjusted to the south, and the storm was predicted to pass south of Cuba. If so, it would remain about 500 miles from Florida.
Those projections could change. Forecasters were growing more confident, however, that a high-pressure area north of Dean's forward track would keep the storm on a westerly course and prevent a northward turn toward Florida.
"The models are very consistent about taking it into the eastern Caribbean," said hurricane specialist Eric Blake of the National Hurricane Center in Miami-Dade County.
Late Wednesday, Dean was about 625 miles east of Barbados, churning westward at almost 23 mph with maximum sustained winds of 70 mph.
The system was expected to reach hurricane strength, with winds of at least 74 mph, by today, and St. Lucia, Martinique and Guadeloupe were under a hurricane watch.
If the latest prediction holds true, most of the Caribbean could be in Dean's path.
The system was expected to move through the Windward Islands on Friday, south of the Dominican Republic and Haiti on Saturday and just south of Jamaica on Sunday.
From there, Dean was expected to bulk up to Category 4 strength and aim toward Mexico's Yucatan or into the Gulf of Mexico.
If it makes it into the Gulf, it could pose a threat to any of the Gulf states, including Florida's western coast and Panhandle, said Rebecca Waddington, a meteorologist with the hurricane center. She also said it could grow to Category 5, with sustained winds of at least 155 mph.
"As of right now, we don't have that in our forecast," she said. "But there's a decrease in wind shear as it moves through the Caribbean."
Initially, long-range forecasts had pointed Dean in the general direction of South Florida. That was because models predicted a trough of low pressure would weaken the high-pressure ridge and allow Dean to slide northwest.
"Now, they're not forecasting as much interaction between the trough and the ridge," Blake said. "Consequently, they're forecasting Dean to move faster and more to the south."
Also Wednesday, Tropical Storm Erin, the fifth named storm of the 2007 hurricane season, formed in the western Gulf and took aim at the southeastern Texas coast. The system was expected to make landfall this morning near Corpus Christi with 50 mph winds. It also could swamp the region with up to 8 inches of rain, the hurricane center said.
Emergency officials urged residents of flood-prone areas to evacuate. High tides were predicted to be about 3 feet above normal levels and could wash away dunes and highways near the shoreline.
Texas Gov. Rick Perry dispatched National Guard personnel and vehicles to south Texas.
"Because storms have saturated much of our state this summer, many communities in this storm's projected path are at high risk of dangerous flash flooding," he said.
With the storm's rain bands reaching the coast on Wednesday, homeowners headed to hardware stores for supplies to board up their houses.
"They know the drill, they're familiar with it," said Ruben Dimas, assistant store manager at a Home Depot in Harlingen.
Cameron County Judge Carlos Cascos, the top elected executive for the state's southernmost county, urged residents to evacuate trailers and mobile homes on South Padre Island. Shell Oil Co. evacuated 188 people from offshore facilities in the storm's path.

SouthAmerica: Yesterday, Al Gore was awarded the Swedish Gothenburg Prize.
I wonder is the âNobel Peace Prizeâ far behind?
The Nobel Peace Prize is usually awarded to make a political point of view.
The Nobel Prize Committee must be aware that they could not get more publicity around the world about the Nobel Prize and increase its prestige even further than with the current opportunity â award the Nobel Peace Prize to Al Gore.
That might be the final credential and final piece of information that would convince Al Gore to enter the US presidential race in 2008.
At this point I am sure that if Al Gore enters the presidential race he would be elected president of the United States in November of 2008.
Al Goreâs win in November of 2008 would not be considered a win just for the American people â Al Goreâs victory in November of 2008 it will be a win for the entire world.

Former American Vice President and environmental campaigner Al Gore has been honored by the western Swedish city of Gothenburg for his work for green issues.
The Gothenburg Prize for Sustainable Development was established in 1999 by the city council and local business leaders. The jury praised Gore for raising awareness of environmental issues, and in particular for his Oscar-winning film that dealt with climate change, âAn Inconvenient Truthâ, and his work on the Live Earth concerts held in July.
According to the prize committee, Gore will accept his award in Gothenburg next January.

"This is the initiative of our president, in order that they be able to play an important role in the diplomacy of global warming," the spokesman for President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono told AFP.
"It's important for the eight countries to have a joint consensus on their contribution to efforts to control global warming," spokesman Dino Patti Djalal said, adding that the group would look at how forest conservation can happen in tandem with economic development.
Indonesia will open a meeting of the eight countries on September 24 in New York in parallel with the UN's annual plenary session, he added.
The eight countries are Brazil, Cameroon, Congo, Costa Rica, Gabon, Indonesia, Malaysia and Papua New Guinea, but more could join, Djalal separately told the Jakarta Post.
The newspaper reported that the grouping was a response to flaws in the Kyoto Protocol, aimed at reducing global carbon emissions, which focuses more on emissions from industry and overlooks forestry.
"The point is that we, the rainforest countries, want to ensure that we will have full ownership of our forests," Djalal was quoted as saying.
He said that "the initiatives on rainforest conservation with regards to climate change have always come from developed countries... The president wants to change this situation."
Indonesia is hosting a United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) conference on the island of Bali in December. Its 191 member states are to discuss climate commitments for the period following 2012, when the Kyoto Protocol expires.
Indonesia is believed to be the world's third largest producer of carbon emissions largely due to forest fires and massive illegal logging across the archipelago nation.

COLUMBIA â As Lee Eames took his seat at the front of the Friends Room at the Columbia Public Library on Saturday afternoon, he was stricken by the low attendance for the first meeting of his Citizens for Gore campaign.
âIâm a little disappointed in the turnout, but when I started this project I hadnât broken my hip,â Eames told a group of four supporters of former vice president Al Gore.
Inspired by the 220 regularly meeting Gore groups across the country, Eames hopes to assemble a Columbia group that will help influence the 2000 presidential candidate to run for the presidency again. At last Saturdayâs meeting, the group discussed Goreâs environmental stance and what they can do to gain support for Gore in the area. Eames cited quotes in Goreâs âThe Assault on Reasonâ as an impetus for his support of Gore.
âMany scientists are now warning that we are moving closer to several âtipping pointsâ that could â within as little as 10 years â make it impossible for us to avoid irretrievable damage to the planetâs habitability for human civilization,â Gore wrote in his new book.
Eames encouraged the group to sign online petitions in support of Gore, and he plans to speak to the Muleskinners, a local Democratic Party luncheon club that meets every Friday at noon in the Stamper Commons cafeteria on the Stephens College campus.
Though Gore has not said whether he will run, his supporters nationwide are committed to showing him that he has the necessary backing to win.

According to a Detroit News/WXYZ-TV poll earlier this month, Gore led in his partyâs poll, beating declared candidates in a survey of 400 likely Democratic voters in Michigan. Gore received 36 percent of the votes compared to the runner-up, Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., who received 32 percent.
âThatâs without any campaigning!â Eames said Saturday.
Though Gore hasnât indicated his intentions, his supporters are hopeful.
âHe is the only person who has the gravitas (to serve),â said Kay Callison, a local Democratic Party activist who attended Eamesâ meeting.
The movement isnât futile. Undeclared candidates, especially as popular as Gore, still have time to get on state primary ballots. In New Hampshire, which has the first scheduled primary, they have until mid-November.
According to an Associated Press report late Thursday afternoon, formerly undeclared Republican candidate Fred Thompson, partially inspired by grass-roots conservative support, announced his intention to declare himself a candidate for president on Sept. 6.
Gore supporters hope that their man, like Thompson, will eventually be persuaded to run.
âThere are some efforts to put Goreâs name on ballots in various states, such as California and New Hampshire,â Friedlander said.
In the meantime, Eames will be ready if or when Gore does declare. Eames seemed confident that Gore will announce over Labor Day weekend.
âIf he does that, weâll be swamped. If he doesnât, Iâll stick with it,â Eames said.

According to a Detroit News/WXYZ-TV poll earlier this month, Gore led in his partyâs poll, beating declared candidates in a survey of 400 likely Democratic voters in Michigan. Gore received 36 percent of the votes compared to the runner-up, Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., who received 32 percent.
âThatâs without any campaigning!â Eames said Saturday.
Though Gore hasnât indicated his intentions, his supporters are hopeful.
âHe is the only person who has the gravitas (to serve),â said Kay Callison, a local Democratic Party activist who attended Eamesâ meeting.
The movement isnât futile. Undeclared candidates, especially as popular as Gore, still have time to get on state primary ballots. In New Hampshire, which has the first scheduled primary, they have until mid-November.
According to an Associated Press report late Thursday afternoon, formerly undeclared Republican candidate Fred Thompson, partially inspired by grass-roots conservative support, announced his intention to declare himself a candidate for president on Sept. 6.
Gore supporters hope that their man, like Thompson, will eventually be persuaded to run.
âThere are some efforts to put Goreâs name on ballots in various states, such as California and New Hampshire,â Friedlander said.
In the meantime, Eames will be ready if or when Gore does declare. Eames seemed confident that Gore will announce over Labor Day weekend.
âIf he does that, weâll be swamped. If he doesnât, Iâll stick with it,â Eames said.

We know that Al Gore has a lot of support around the country and millions of Americans are waiting patiently for him to announce that he is running for president in 2008.
Taking in consideration that he is very well known, and that he has been receiving a lot of publicity during 2007 for a number of reasons. For all practical purposes Al Gore is getting a lot of publicity and he is on everybodyâs mind â if anything because of his very visible efforts regarding - "Global Warming." A critical issue that is becoming very important for the US, and also to the rest of the world.
The other thing to keep in mind is that as soon Al Gore announces that he is a candidate for 2008 â there is a large number of people ready to be mobilized to participate overnight on Al Goreâs presidential campaign.
