Al Gore - Democratic Party candidate in 2008.

I think this is true, and it is sad.

He is by far the best candidate on the right in my opinion.

We still need a libertarian that can win. Not quite there yet:

-Low taxes and spending (the old right)
-Religion has no place whatsoever in the State.
-Dem social views: environment, women's rights (and I suppose gay's, as long as they don't flaunt it) AND, yes, gun control. Everyone has right to a fire arm, but not an uzi. Aim when you take down that deer.

you think war monger Romney is the best on the right? and then you utter the need for a libertarian? you are all over the board. i dont even want to know your opinion on Ron Paul.

Romney might have had a chance in another day despite his religion except for one thing - - George Bush bringing in the faith based angle. IMO this is a bigger reason than acknowledged why 2/3 of Americans want the Bushie type Republican gone forever. There wont be a fundy President for the rest of our lives. Romney, if he had to do it over now, couldn't win in Mass. in a million years. Mainstream Protestant, Catholic, possibly Jewish or traditional Southern Baptist only. Bush family is either Presbyterian or Episcopal, can't remember which, and I'm sure that's the way W was brought up. He only went off the deep end after the family brought in Billy Graham to get him off the booze and coke.

I can see that he is already running in the 2008 presidential race – and at the right time he will make it official.

But in the event that he decides to stay out of that race then I will support some 3dr Party candidate such as Michael Bloomberg of New York.

SouthAmerica: It did not make an impression on me. I don’t even remember that they were talking about that in the 1970’s

But global warming is for real and prior history means nothing on this regard for a simple reason – our planet never before had a population of 6.5 billion people and still growing.

In my lifetime the population of our planet went from 2 to over 6 billion people – we are talking about of almost 7 billion people polluting our planet like if there is no tomorrow.

In the mid 1970’s when I still in college I took a communications class and we had to make a final presentation in front of the class and the teacher would tell you if your subject had grabbed the attention of the public.

The idea was that I would have a television program of one hour that would be broadcasted to the entire world and I could chose any subject that I wanted to for that one hour global presentation.

I chose to talk about population grow and the negative impact that increasing global population would have on our planet.

I was influenced at the time by a book “Limits to Growth” which made sense to me.

Limits to Growth is a 1972 book modeling the consequences of a rapidly growing world population and finite resource supplies, commissioned by the Club of Rome. Its authors were Donella H. Meadows, Dennis L. Meadows, Jørgen Randers, and William W. Behrens III. The book used the World3 model to simulate[1] the consequence of interactions between the Earth's and human systems. The book echoes some of the concerns and predictions of Reverend Thomas Robert Malthus in An Essay on the Principle of Population (1798).

Five variables were examined in the original model, on the assumption that exponential growth accurately described their patterns of increase.

These variables are: world population, industrialization, pollution, food production and resource depletion. The authors intended to explore the possibility of a sustainable feedback pattern which would be achieved by altering growth trends among the five variables.

After I finished my presentation about exponential population growth and its impact on our planet my communications teacher told me that such a program would not maximized the global audience and most likely most people would turn off their TV or change the channel to watch something else.

Basically what he told me at the time is that most people don’t care about the environment and that they want to continue living their lives the way they have been doing and they don’t want to hear anyone preaching about them changing their life style for any reason including the environment or any other issue.

The communications teacher still gave me a B+ as the final grade for that class despite my bad choice of subject for the final presentation.
