Good Morning Frederick Foresight,

I watched Al Brooks videos and studied and took notes for about 1.5 years.

To date, I am still a non consistent profitable day trader using some of the techniques of Brooks. I stopped studying him for my own reasons and no longer use his style of trading because of my own research and development efforts. His method does not fit my personality honestly and my trading business objectives in the next X years and I feel Al Brooks does more harm than good for me.

I personally know another person with 13 years of no success with Al Brooks. He was active on ET.

Does this mean, another Al Brook student(s) is successful just because I am not?

Yes and No. Everyone is different. Perhaps, I did not put in enough effort and hours and practice. That could be the case.

I do not want to speak negative on Brooks business. But I think every trader has to pick a trading teacher from a business perspective of time and money. He only cost me about $400. Not too bad of a risk investment.

I find his methods are okay if added to a toolset of a seasoned trader. If you'd trade TA by Brooks alone you'd be a poor trader if even profitable. But if you combine it with experience you know what to look out for. When you expect a top and you see his mentioned 3 pushes up it gives you an edge. Same for the end of a trend

There was a time when ET was a reasonable place for full time traders as well as developing traders to congregate for intelligent and appropriate discussions regarding technical and behavioral issues. In recent years the place has devolved into largely a forum of ignorance and bullshit and many of the serious traders have left. Brooks does not need defending by myself or anyone else, he likely has more money and and certainly more widespread respect within the trading community at large than all the ET trolls combined.

My aim at defending his work has been to encourage new and developing traders to examine important scholarship on the nature of price behavior and development. I have come to the conclusion that if any are so easily influenced by ignorance and mindless negativity then they stand little chance at becoming a successful trader anyway.

Hello speedo,

I defend and make my opinions not only about Brooks but all teachers.

I personally have no problems with Al Brooks. I learned a lot from his course about price movements and the expectations of price movements and how I can benefit from the expectations of price movements, and how I can have an edge, if and only if I put in the hard work and hours of studying and practicing price movements. It helps.

On the other hand @speedo not everyone thinks like you. We live in advance world of technology. When you started trading (not making fun of your age) was probably years ago or decades ago, where the amount of marketing on day trading was low. Nowadays, they marketing and selling of day trading course a trader has to see daily is outrageously high.

I can not imgaine what a new trader goes through seeking correct direction. There is TONS and TONS of day trading marketing courses that follows a trader around the internet alll day. I cannot even watch a movie on youtube without someone trying to sell a day trading course.

Traders/investors/customers are much more wiser and more access to information.

In short, new traders are more direct. They want to know if a teacher makes money day trading or not. Yes or No. What they do with that Yes or No, is there professional trading business.

In other words, do not be mad at the "trolls" on ET. They are just more advanced and asking the right questions.

And from a business perspective, it is a fair question for a businessman. Alot traders simply want to know if their teacher makes money or not. Fair question and a respectful question.

It is like me sending my child to a college that is not accredited and ruin the child chances of finding a decent job, and I can not ask the college why they are not accredited college. The same goes for Al Brook. I am the paying customer of time and money, I am the businessman, I have the right to ask Al Brooks if he actually trades and if he makes money to my standard or not.
