If I'm not mistaken, Covel was never one of Dennis's Turtles. He just wrote about them, and hitched his wagon to the Trend Train book & lecture circuit.
You're leaving something important out. Richard Dennis' system no longer works. One needs to learn a system, but to learn trading at the same time.
You're right. Covel's book was a fun read.
One thing is certain, and Richard Dennis will tell you himself: The people that he and Eckhardt hired into the turtle trading program were all well above average intelligence and, in fact, they are quite a smart bunch.

It does matter if he systems no longer works.
When it did works, he made a group of people Millionaires because he was a Millionaire Trader, which proves my point and his point.
If you want to be a millionaire trader, work with a millionaire trader.
The turtles were fortunate in that they traded Dennis's money. Easy to be a millionaire trader when you strat with a million dollar account.
