Al Brooks method

From this noob's point of view, I think Brooks's core trading method is on solid footing. Yes, his writing style is pretty crappy, but thankfully he made enough Youtube videos to make up for it.

What's the general opinion on Al Brooks works?

I read Trading Trends and found it fascinating. He also describes the concept of trapped traders teaching you how to spot where stop loss orders are probably placed and could fuel a movement in the opposite direction, once hit.

He's not a guru, he just teaches price action.

Now reading Trading Ranges.

Al Brooks = Yawn:

These folks tell u what u "want to hear". It fits with most peoples mind set--- hard work, lots of screen time, study, heck its the American meme.

Truth is market success has nothing to do with any of those things but they do lead to self delusion.

What does market success rely on if not the above?

Edge and understanding how markets really work. Market success and life success rely on completely different paradigms.

Not staring at past price charts trying to discern randomly repeating patterns to project what to xpect next

That's credible as you appear to be an expert at self delusion.

Brooks has failed to mention the subjective and intuitive nature of his trading. Most of what he's learned from experience in trading can't be taught

...All the great traders can't really...teach...their craft -- because it's simply skill and intuition, more or less. :sneaky:,:wtf:

Great trading is not as black and white as following a cooking recipe or drug formula.
I said it before, and I'll say it again:...trading is part art, part science. (on any given day...it can vary on that spectrum.)
